Memory Verse: Week of March 12th
Week of March 12th
Isaiah 55:8–9
[8] For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the LORD.
[9] For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. (Isaiah 55:8-9 ESV)
[Context: God is wise beyond measure. Isaiah 55 is a great chapter that extols the glory of God as shown in the Gospel. He has made a way for the worst of sinners to be accepted and brought near – freely for the us. All we need is thirst.
As we follow and obey this wonderful God who paid all that was necessary to redeem us, let us remember that his wisdom and thoughts and ways are higher that we can fathom. Let us not sit in judgment on God and his ways. Consider the cross. In the moment, we could never have seen the wisdom of God and how such an event could have accomplished such a glorious result. Let us remember this, when we are confused and do not understand what God is doing in any given moment. He is good and he is wise and he will be vindicated in due time. He is all about His Father’s business and it has our very best in mind. So in the meantime, let us trust him and keep our eyes on Jesus who has become for us wisdom from God! ]
